Winter Lay Up
Winterisation, as well as frost protection is an important part of maintaining & protecting your boat. We offer a full service booked from a simple “tick-the-boxes” form sent to all the moorers in September.
At the date you have selected we bring your boat to the crane, lift it out, thoroughly jet wash the undersides to remove all slime and growths then carry it in our hydraulic lifting trailer to the correct spot for the winter.
Prior to lifting we will, if selected, winterise & service your engines. Oil change, fuel and oil filter change, check hoses & belts, check antifreeze protection, vacuum drain water systems and check / protect WC. Batteries can also be removed for storage and charging.
In the early spring prior to launch date we will carry out re-antifouling and hull polishing as selected by you. We scrape loose antifoul, mask up edges and re-antifoul, inspect anodes and re-do bootline as selected, together with 3M hull polishing.
Finalising the engine service we change your vital water pump impeller which can perish over winter and for petrol engines change plugs, points and condensers. We then clean up the engine bay and go for a river trial to ensure all operating temps and water flows are correct.
In the spring at your selected date we move your boat to the crane and carryout any final requests – e.g. wash decks – then launch the boat and return to your berth ready for you to enjoy!
