City Centre
The city has many varied shopping outlets. Close to the Marina are the main supermarkets and on the high street are normal & specialist shops. Toppings bookshop for example.
Opposite and unique to Ely is the Ely Fudge shop where in their view no matter the question the answer is fudge – try some!
The Kings School has majestic old buildings and peaceful grounds which make an interesting walk. They often host public open air recitals and concerts.
The Museum, at the top of Market Street, and the Hereward the Wake house nearby cover some of the rich history of the area.
The Cathedral provides religious services and a peaceful visit but also much more – recitals, choir sessions & concerts. The Stained Glass Museum is another attraction.
Thursday & Saturday are market days in the Market Square at the top of Forehill. Food stalls, entertainment, tools, bric-a-brac abound.
